Portland Thorns FC
I had the opportunity to work as a freelancer for FC Portland Thorns in 2025: the first was for their Pride 2025 campaign, and the most recent was for their Hispanic Heritage Month celebration match. For both projects, I created the visual direction and illustrations that captured not only the team's branding but also the specific themes.
For the Pride 2025 design, my inspiration came from the LGBTQ+ community within Portland's soccer scene, as well as the players and the welcoming, inclusive atmosphere that the Thorns team represents. In contrast, the Hispanic Heritage Month design drew inspiration from a subculture of Latinx dance parties known as chilengas and the vibrant, maximalist posters that characterize them.
Working with the Thorns team was an enjoyable experience. I collaborated closely with the art director, motion designer, and in-studio designer to create two outstanding pieces of work.
